Arctic Flowers Unveil “In Silence” from New Album “Straight To The Hunter”

Portland’s own chilling post-punk four-piece Arctic Flowers have unveiled the track “In Silence”,  a song featured on their self released new LP Straight To The Hunter. The album comes out in the US on November 30th with a European release via Sabotage Records to follow.

The band have been making music for nearly a decade now, having formed in 2009, going on to release two LPs, two splits and EPs, as well as a few miscellaneous self-released demos and singles, before they began the long process of writing the new record, which follows two years after their Infinite Void split seven-inch release, and four years follow their last album Weaver.

Guitarist Stan says the reasoning behind the long incubation period was “partially just life, but also experimenting and not wanting to make the same record again.”

This comes through on “In Silence, which a whirl or anarcho-punk, deathrock, and post-punk tempered through their nine years in existence, while maintaining the haunting melodies the band has been known for.

A record release show for Straight to the Hunter is scheduled for December 8th at the High Water Mark in Portland.
