Straight out of NEPA, aggro-punk duo Malice Machine has unleashed a brand new album, Act of Self-Destruction. Masterminds Syn and Julie-X weave together a sinister assembly of synths, throbbing bass, methodical drums, and razor-edged, furious vocals.
As with their previous releases, Act of Self-Destruction remains lyrically bleak, dark, and foreboding. Tracks like Delete Me offer an inward-looking perspective on feeling useless or dejected, while others such as Hyena criticize society and its leaders for perpetuating a destabilized world. The songs on Act of Self-Destruction explore the darkest parts of the human psyche and the world around us.
The album introduces Malice Machine’s original concept of “aggro-punk,” fusing the harsh electronic synth, bass, and drum assault of aggrotech with the rebellious, raw energy and directness of punk. Their aggressive electronic beats, harsh vocals, and dark, dystopian themes blend elements of EBM (Electronic Body Music), harsh electro, and darkwave.

Their lyrics delve into the darker aspects of human existence, examining societal control, personal demons, and the impact of technology on humanity. With this collection, it’s evident that Malice Machine is broadcasting their relentless message to the chaos of their wicked musical realm.
