As the summer ends, dark post-punk act Secret Shame unveils another track from their fantastic debut LP Dark Synthetics, this time the band’s third single from the LP “Gift”.
“Gift” is both bewitching and sorrowful, tribal drums lead into several tempos changes leading into guitars spiral like a tornado, sounding ultimately as old school as the work of Skeletal Family, but timeless with the passionate vocals that cry out through vocalist Lena.
“This is the oldest song on the entire LP, being started in 2017, right after we finished recording our first release.” Lena explains, “It’s the last glimpse of a path we could’ve gone towards, a sound that we almost were. This song is about instability and false prophets.”
