Depeche Mode’s Dave Gahan hospitalized in Belarus

The Depeche Mode concert in  tonight Minsk, Belarus was cancelled due to the hospitalization of frontman Dave Gahan.

It had been announced earlier via the band’s website that the show had been canceled due to a band member illness:

“We regretfully announce that due to band member illness, Depeche Mode will be unable to perform tonight’s show at Minsk Arena in Minsk, Belarus.
We are currently looking at all options to reschedule this show for later in the tour. We expect to be able to give an update on this within the next week.
We ask all fans holding tickets for tonight’s show to stand by for further information regarding the rescheduling of the show and/or refunds.”

According to Russian new sources, the illness appears to be “gastrointestinal”, At this time it is not sure if the next concerts in Kiev on July 19th and Warsaw July 21st will take place.

UPDATE

As reported by the BBC, The Belorusskiye Novosti website referred to the situation illness “the most expensive poisoning in the music history of Belarus”.
According to the gig’s organizer, Andrey Alekseyev, Dave Gahan became ill due to food poisoning at 3:30pm local time in Minsk, 2 hours before the show was set to begin,
The Belarusian Naviny.by website has updated the situation on Dave’s condition by posting a photo on its Facebook page of the singer posing with medical staff before he left the hospital.
