Sinking and falling in the dirt crawling
Raise me like the dead and I’m up now, up now
You see me like a zombie but what’s all around me
He raised me like the dead and I’m up now, up now
She 1 • Him 2 are Evan Nave and Cassie Bishop, an alternative electronic dance duo with a taste for the slick and sharp. They nod to the likes of Yazoo, Pet Shop Boys, and Soft Cell, while drawing from their past lives in Lestat and Shy Moon. Together, they’ve hammered out a new, chrome-plated pop sound that’s as polished as it is provocative.
Their influences run deep—Ladytron’s cold precision, Lana Del Rey’s haunting vibes, The Human League’s sleek synths, and the gritty undercurrent of Nine Inch Nails. Their latest track, I’m Up Now, is a spooky spin on a classic cheerleading chant, driven by Bishop’s effervescent vocals and razor-sharp production.
It’s all wrapped up in a fun animated video featuring ghoulish creatures from the local graveyard. The beat is relentless, urging you to strap on your boots and stomp your way to the nearest dance floor. This track doesn’t just play—it haunts, hammers, and hooks you in for the ride.
“This is a super catchy synthpop summer dance track. I’m really proud of this one!” says songwriter and synthesist Evan Nave.

“It was a lot of fun writing lyrics that were more of a fictional story than a personal experience,” says lead vocalist and lyricist Cassie Bishop about the new single. “Also, zombies.”
I’m Up Now, produced and recorded by Mike Seifert (Tori Amos/Paul Simon) at Suma Studios in Cleveland, Ohio, is available now on all digital and streaming platforms and is just the first of three new singles coming from the duo this year.
