XTR Human Returns With Spangled Brutalo Dream Pop in Their Video “On A Greater Scale”

Following a phenomenal venture into the bright shimmering textures of shoegaze dream-pop with 2018’s “Reflections” EP, German post-punk act XTR Human continues its departure from darker tones with “On A Greater Scale” a track that previews the band’s forthcoming second album due out in Spring of 2020.

The song is warm and sentimental melody infused Brit-influenced alternative rock and dream-pop influences, part The Jesus and Mary Chain, part The Ocean blue, this is a song to slow-dance to in a dorm room after tuning into your local college radio station circa 1988-1991.

XTR Human’s Johannes Stabel has indicated that this new release signals a way of returning to his indie music background via way of “power wave” and “brutalo pop”. Besides the brighter template of sound, the new song retains youthful optimism counterbalanced with the self-confidence that only comes with the slings and arrows of age and experience.

“On A Greater Scale” is out now via Berlin label Blackjack Illuminist Records, and comes backed with two remixes of “On A Greater Scale” by Vlimmer and Detuned Radio.
