Watch Siouxsie’s Triumphant Return to the Stage after Ten Years

After a decade-long hiatus, Queen Siouxsie has returned at last to the stage. Last night, the hallowed halls of Ancienne Belgique in Belgium resonated with the thunderous applause of an eager crowd as she re-emerged, captivating and defiant. Adorned in an ethereal teal jumpsuit, Siouxsie exuded an aura of timeless elegance whilst indulging the audience with her iconic high kicks and sardonic wit. Her voice has matured into a sultry, smoky register; her theatrical prowess is as magnetic as ever. It is a joy to see her again.

This show kicked off a series of shows for Siouxsie this year, including Cruel World Fest in California (her only North American appearance), as well as festivals in the UK, Spain, Portugal, and more.

The set, comprised primarily of Banshees songs, opens with Night Shift, Arabian Knights, while her trademark single Spellbound, also  from 1981’s Juju, was performed later. She then slunk her way through Happy House and Christine (from 1980’s Kaleidoscope), Kiss Them for Me (from 1991’s Superstition), Cities in Dust (from 1986’s Tinderbox), the 1988 hit Peek-a-Boo from Peepshow, and their covers of “Dear Prudence” and “The Passenger.

Renaud Avisse filmed Spellbound and Happy House at the show last night:
