As the Midwest’s most loved EBM band, Klack returns with a new single “Body2Body2Body.” The song—out September 1st on Bandcamp—follows in the project’s true form: fun, danceable music set to a compelling bassline by Wisconsin’s Eric Oehler and Matt Fanale. Now five years down the road, the duo continues to create tracks that fit seamlessly into DJ sets but also stand strong on their own.
“Body2Body2Body” pays homage to EBM progenitors Front 242 and, further, Bigod 20 with their song title reference. Recognizing past underground electronic dance movements from the 1980s, Klack rearranges and adds a shine to new beat and EBM sounds. This is exemplified on their new track with its distinctly prominent bass and percussive accents alongside the hint of a clubby house groove.
The music video is “a product of a clandestine shoot in an Chicago-area IKEA, was also the location where Klack did a guerrilla parking lot performance a few years back.” Watch Oehler and Fanale take a tryst around the ready-to-assemble store below:
The “Body2Body2Body” single also features remixes by the legendary Portion Control as well as dark rave master Crystal Geometry. Buy it here.
