Watch a full Joy Division Set | Apollo Theatre, Manchester 27th October 1979

There is not nearly enough footage available of Joy Division live. But as luck may have it, this hometown set from the Buzzcocks tour was captured on film.  Here the young men in question were opening but were only allowed to play for 32 minutes with no encore—which of course left the audience audibly disappointed as was indicated by their booing. Both this particular night and the following on the 28th were videotaped by Richard Boon, with part of the footage featured on the Here Are The Young Men video (Fact 37).

  1. Dead Souls
  2. Wilderness
  3. Colony
  4. Auto-Suggestion
  5. Love Will Tear Us Apart
  6. Shadowplay
  7. She’s Lost Control
  8. Transmission (not included in video)
