With their propelling bass lines, infectious rhythms, and uplifting vocals, Vancouver’s Girlfriends and Boyfriends announce the release of a new video for the single “Colour Shining Bright.”
The song, featuring a psychedelic sentiment as well as charming 80s jangle sensibilities, brings to mind later Simple Minds and Blancmange. “Colour Shining Bright” is featured on Fallacy of Fairness, produced and engineered by Felix Fung at Little Red Sounds, New Westminster, BC.
“Colour Shining Bright is about the shared human experience of navigating hurdles built by those who see things in absolutist terms,” explains the band.
The video, an animated callback to the classic a-ha “Take On Me” clip, was shot and edited by Wayne Moreheart with the help of some very talented animators and filmmakers, including Laura Mayhem, Devan Locke, and Dustin Anderson. Jumping back and forth between an illustrated and photographic style, the video is visually compelling and just plain fun.

Girlfriends and Boyfriends will be supporting The Foreign Resort and HAPAX on their North American tour at Handlebar Toronto Saturday, September 24, 2022.
Girlfriend and Boyfriends’ sophomore LP, Fallacy of Fairness, was released in January via Spanish label Oraculo Records. Produced and engineered by Felix Fung at Little Red Sounds, the album charted in Canada’s National Top 50. Their third pressing of the critically-acclaimed LP is out now on Dirt Cult Records.
