Turkish Darkwave Project Affet Robot Debuts New Industrial Dance Pop Single “At The End”

From the bustling heart of Istanbul to the vibrant cityscape of London is Eren Günsan’s innovative musical venture, Affet Robot, or “Forgive Robot.” Günsan’s creations serve as a kaleidoscopic tapestry of sound, melding the brooding depth of darkwave with the electrifying pulse of synthpop. Each composition is a testament to his ability to blur genre boundaries with finesse, carving out a distinct identity in the music landscape.

Now, Günsan introduces us to his latest aural odyssey: At The End. This evocative dance-pop track navigates the treacherous waters of disillusionment, gradually transitioning to a state of detachment in the face of a potentially lopsided relationship. The song’s lyrics keenly articulate the soul-crushing exhaustion and despair that ensue when our emotional overtures find no echo.

Günsan’s vocals on “At The End”  channels a spirit reminiscent of Bernard Sumner of New Order, painting a vibrant picture of the late 80s dance era. The track initially lures listeners in with its ominous spoken word vocals, a distinct touch that seamlessly evolves into the main vocal arrangement as the song unfolds.

This piece is characterized by a potent, resonant bass synth, encapsulating a mechanical, factory-like rhythm that sets a unique beat. This latest single, “At The End,” sees its assembly rooted in the South London scene under the watchful stewardship of Affet Robots’ Eren Gunsan, who governed production, recording, and mixing. The task of mastering the piece fell into the skillful hands of Gianni Peri, assuring a polished sonic finish. Visually, the release takes on an additional layer of interest with Sefa Sagir’s abstract cover art.

The EP’s second track is scheduled for release at the end of June.
