Danish darkwave act Pulsations has made its debut with a fantastic first double a-side single spearheaded by Copenhagen-based musician and producer Hadrian Esteves.
The first track on the release is the amazing “Bedwarfing Virtues”, whose lush dreamy post-punk melodies and crooning vocals sound like a cross between acts such as Twin Tribes, and She Past Away, and The Smiths.
Side two’s “Among Daughters Of The Wet Stones” doesn’t disappoint either. Utilizing thick Doktor Avalanche style drums along with captivating basslines, and distinct crystalline guitar timbres wrapped in lush reverb, this could almost be mistaken for an undiscovered gem from an 80s vinyl collectors playlist.

The fantastic Scandinavian post-punk resurgence of the last few years have brought about a welcomed new spirit and voice to the genre with the creative output by such artists like Kælan Mikla, Antipole, Isolated Youth, Sólveig Matthildur, Then Comes Silence and many more. It’s in this artistic energy and context that Pulsations brings forth their unique delivery, both musically and poetically. Pulsation’s roots are firmly entrenched in the 80’s tradition, while the sound of the band flourishes with colours of the new millennia.
Pulsations’ debut single is available now via Crunch Pod.
