Toronto’s Odonis Odonis Unveil Blistering New Single “A Body”

Toronto’s Odonis Odonis are mere days away from releasing their highly anticipated fifth record Spectrums on Felte Records. To quote a song title from the LP, it’s been a “slow drip” of an unveiling, with track by track being released with a series of color-coded videos and visuals. Each song has shown the range of Odonis Odonis’ sonic palate, running the gamut across the darker sides of the spectrum to include slow burn darkwave, catchy hard-hitting synth pop, fast and furious scraping Wax Trax-inspired bangers, and some of the more curious spaces in between. We’re pleased to premiere the final single from the LP, “A Body.” Watch below:

“A Body” begins with throbbing synth bass and a shuffling electronic beat, with a series of hushed whispers giving way to a softly sung verse. This quickly builds into a frenzied, distorted chorus that is one of the duo’s hardest hitting to date. The track jumps back and forth between seething tension and explosive fury before settling into a scraping electronic groove, ending with one final scathing release.

The visuals for this video, created Adam Seward, Juliana Carlevaris and Shaun Bowering, are drenched in emerald green lighting, highlighting the track’s slithering verses. As before, this video continues Odonis Odonis’ marriage of light and shadow with kinetic live energy, which recently could be seen in the flesh at this year’s Cold Waves festival performance.

Spectrums drops on October 15th, just in time to catch the band live across a handful of dates in North America. For a full list of tour dates, check the band’s webpage below:
