Throbbing Gristle to celebrate 40th anniversary of their debut ‘The Second Annual Report’ with reissues

Mute and Throbbing Gristle are celebrating the 40th anniversary of TG’S  The Second Annual Report with a series of reissues set for release on November 3rd.

The industrial music pioneers Chris Carter, Peter ‘Sleazy’ Christopherson , Cosey Fanni Tutti and Genesis Breyer P-Orridge released their debut LP on November 4th, 1977.

The LP titled The Second Annual Report—one of the most influential electronic music albums, which created it’s own new genre of music—is getting a limited edition white vinyl release along 20 Jazz Funk Greats, on green vinyl. Both records will also be available on a double CD.

Additionally, The Taste Of TG: A Beginner’s Guide to Throbbing Gristle is also getting a reissue which adds Almost A Kiss to the tracklisting. This is the first time the compilation is being released on vinyl—which will come in a double red edition,  alongside a CD and digital release.

Listen to United above—a track that was originally released as a 7” on Industrial Records in 1978. The song is also featured on The Taste Of TG compilation.

Following the recent availability of Throbbing Gristle on streaming services, these reissues are part of Mute’s campaign for physical releases of the entire TG back catalog, with more records scheduled for January and April of 2018.

See Schedule below:

January 2018:  D.o.A. The Third And Final Report, Heathen Earth, Part Two: Endless Not
April of 2018: Mission Of Dead Souls, Greatest Hits, Journey Through A Body. In The Shadow Of The Sun

Throbbing Gristle & Industrial Records, 1980
