The Smiths share Take 1 of ‘There is a Light that Never Goes Out’

“There is a light in your eyes and it never goes out.”

This was the original refrain to The Smiths classic single There is a Light that Never Goes Out, which will be featured on the (not yet officially) announced ‘Super Deluxe Edition’ of the band’s lauded third studio LP, The Queen Is Dead.

Today via the band’s official Facebook page, the “Take 1” version of the aforementioned single was shared, at it is included as one of the bonus cuts on this new special edition.

Despite the Amazon UK listing being deleted, the 2CD/1DVD reissue is due out October 20th (see video below). The 2 disc set will a 2017 mastering of the original album, with a bonus of 13 demos, rarities and B-sides.

No information regarding the DVD content’s at this time, but perhaps it will include a restored version of the Derek Jarman film The Queen is Dead.

The Queen is Dead has new cover art as well.
