The band that for many people is synonymous for synthpop, new-romantic, and new-wave—Sheffield’s The Human League have announced three stateside gigs this May in the US, and an extensive European and UK tour being billed as Red 2018.
This announcement comes as the band are set to celebrate 40 years since they released their iconic first single Being Boiled.
On the US itinerary are two clubs gigs scheduled in Las Vegas and San Francisco along with an appearance at the Like Totally ’80s Festival in Huntington Beach, California where the trio of Philip Oakey, Joanne Catherall, and Susan Ann Sulley will appear on a bill with new-wave and post-punk acts The Alarm and Jay Aston’s Gene Loves Jezebel, along with 80’s pop icon Tiffany, and Ska band The Untouchables.
Book of Love will be joining The Human League for the club dates on May 11th, and May 13th
After the handful of US Dates, The Human League will embark on a UK and Northern European Tour, beginning on October 31st in Brussels, and ending December 8th in London.
All UK dates to feature Midge Ure’s band Electronica on the bill.
