The Grave Where You Lay — Dark Synthwave Project More is Not Enough Returns with Smoldering New Single “B.I.T.E.”

The consequences of anchoring yourself to blind faith and religious doctrine can be severe. “You’ve made your bed, now lie in it,” and “You’ve dug your own grave.” These age-old adages remind us that our choices shape our fate. Still, hell is ultimately a place that exists within the mind, a lesson poignantly echoed in More is Not Enough’s smoldering new single, “B.I.T.E.” Released on June 1st, this track is a haunting exploration of self-identity and the harrowing psychological effects of extreme religious devotion.

Mixed and mastered by Seger Rauls at Phoenix Studios, “B.I.T.E.” delves into the intricacies of religion, identity, and mental health. In the artist’s own words, the song “explores the complex relationship between religion and identity, and the mental health struggles that arise from it.” The narrative speaks to the pain of seeking solace in religious doctrine, only to find oneself lost and manipulated by those who promise salvation.

The minimalist musical approach of “B.I.T.E.” ensures the poignant message takes center stage. The track features buoyant, metallic synths reminiscent of John Carpenter’s iconic soundscapes, paired with dark, smoldering vocals echoing the disaffected tones of Dave Gahan. The result is a cinematic yet understated composition that draws listeners into its introspective depths.

“B.I.T.E.” stands for behavior, information, thought, and emotion, capturing the essence of both those lost in their search for truth and those who prey upon their vulnerabilities. This stark portrayal of mental anguish and manipulation is underscored by the song’s aggressive yet inviting flow, making it one of More is Not Enough’s most compelling works to date.
