Mark E Smith had a prolific music career—spanning forty years and frequent lineup changes with his legendary Manchester Post-Punk band The Fall. This past November Cherry Red Records had compiled a new 7-disc, 117-track singles box set containing both A-sides and B-sides.
The Fall – Singles 1978-2016 Box Set Collection—starts the collection with Bingo-Master from the band’s 1978 debut EP Bingo-Master’s Break-Out!, and completes the collection with material 2016 EP Wise Ol’ Man
The collection is also available in a 3xCD format featuring only the A-sides. Both versions of the box set can be ordered here.
According to Cherry Red, The discs have been re-mastered by Fall engineer Andy Pearce and come with a newly designed book in a box. This is the first collection of all the Fall singles recorded across a multitude of labels: Step Forward, Rough Trade, Kamera, Beggars Banquet, Cog Sinister, Permanent, Artful, Action, and Cherry Red of course.
Also included is a full illustrated discography by renowned Fall expert Conway Paton.
The collection does not include anything from The Fall’s 32nd studio album New Facts Emerge, which was released this past July.
