The Cure to Reissue Double Live Album “Show” on Vinyl for 30th Anniversary

The Cure are commemorating the 30th anniversary of their 1993 double live album, “Show,” by releasing a new vinyl edition. The album will now be available as a 2LP vinyl reissue in September, marking the first time that it will be released on vinyl since 1993.

Show” represents one half of a twin set of live albums performed by The Cure in the waning embers of 1993, echoing their journey on tour in celebration of their preceding year’s album, “Wish.” While the live album “Paris” is more esoteric than its counterpart, and it weaves a distinct narrative through its collection of deep cuts from the band’s song catalog.

Recorded at The Palace in Auburn Hills, Michigan, during the US leg of the tour in July 1992, “Show” is comprised of 18 tracks, including popular singles such as “Pictures of You,” “High,” “Lullaby,” “Just Like Heaven,” “Fascination Street,” “The Walk,” “Let’s Go To Bed,” “Friday I’m In Love,” “Never Enough,” and “Inbetween Days.”  Additionally, the album features Wish-era live favorites such as “Trust” and “From The Edge Of The Deep Green Sea.”

It’s interesting to note that the “Show” live set was not released on vinyl in the United States but was released as a 2LP set in Europe and other parts of the world in 1993. American fans were only given a 14-song version of “Show” on a single-disc CD, with the remaining five tracks appearing on the “Sideshow” EP.

The newly remastered pressing of “Show”, overseen by Robert Smith and Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios in London, consists of all 18 tracks that were included in the double CD and vinyl releases previously available outside of the United States.

The new pressing of the double live album comes out September 8th on heavyweight vinyl via Rhino Records.
