The Cure’s frontman, Robert Smith, has taken to Twitter to announce the addition of four extra shows to their highly anticipated “Shows of a Lost World” 2023 tour. Three of the shows will serve as extra nights in San Diego (May 21), Montreal (June 17), and Atlanta (June 28). The fourth show will take place in Portland at the Moda Center on May 31.
Smith explained that everyone with a previously issued but unsuccessful Verified Fan code from any market will have the first option to buy tickets for these additional shows. Sales will open on Friday, April 7th, at 10 AM local time, with a limit of four tickets per person. All tickets will be non-transferable. Verified Fans will be notified on Thursday, April 6th.
In an attempt to combat ticket scalping, the Portland show will serve as an “experiment” to see whether non-transferable tickets are enough protection. The purchase of tickets for this show will not require a Ticketmaster Verified Fan status.
Smith urged fans not to buy tickets if they don’t intend to attend the shows. If there are still tickets left, a public on-sale will commence from Saturday, April 8th, with details to follow. He also stated that “Previously Waitlisted fans, who were also Verified, will all receive a code tomorrow.”
The Cure’s official website has been updated to include all the new information about the additional shows and can be accessed at thecure.com.
