On September 25th, 1981 Siouxsie and Budgie released their debut EP for their project The Creatures. The EP was named Wild Things by Steven Severin, because it resembled what he thought would be the music the creatures from Where The Wild Things Are would dance to during their “wild rumpus”.
The album was recorded during a break from Siouxsie and the Banshees’ sessions for the album Juju—expanded from the initial track “But Not Them”—adding “Thumb”, “So Unreal”, “Wild Thing”, and “Mad Eyed Screamer”.
