The Creatures | Feast

On May 15th, 1983, Feast the debut album by The Creatures was released. The project comprised of both Siouxsie Sioux and Budgie of Siouxsie and the Banshees,  who had released their Wild Things EP released two years prior to Feast during the recording sessions for the Banshees album Juju.

Siouxsie and Budgie took an unconventional path in their decision on where to record the album by randomly placing a pin on a map of the world, and suspiciously ended with their location being Hawaii. This inspired songs such as “Festival of Colours” and “A Strutting Rooster”, and “Inoaʻole” is Hawaiian for “no name”.

Not unlike The Normal’s “Warm Leatherette” The single “Miss the Girl” is inspired by the book Crash, by J. G. Ballard.
