Synthpop Sensations Nuovo Testamento Return with new Single “Heartbeat”

Open those glassy eyes
A veil to hide behind
Never thought I’d find
This rhythm in my mind

Los Angeles-via-Bologna synthpop sensations Nuovo Testamento returns with their pulsing and romantic new single and video straight from the grooves of their upcoming LP Love Lines. With “Heartbeat”, Nuovo Testamento infuses dark Italo disco with 1980s New Wave, contagious rhythms, and a zeal for orchestral hits on the synth pad. Bringing to mind Pet Shop Boys during the Actually era with a splash of Information Society, the band explores exciting rhythms and explosive special touches with this exuberant track. Its unabashed romance is illustrated with exciting scenes as we explore the City of Angels, interspersed with performance moments by director Gamal Sharaf El Deen.

Frontwoman and vocalist Chelsey Crowley’s bubbly vocals anchor the chaotic plethora of samples and arpeggios that zip out of the track; a creative and intriguing approach to invigorating that nostalgic twinge that makes us wish we could blare this on a boom box in the park and breakdance with Turbo and Ozone. Fall in love on the dance floor or the streets, Nuovo Testamento scores the soundtrack of your heart.

Nuovo Testamento’s all-star lineup includes members of Tørsö, Horror Vacui, Crimson Scarlet, and touring members of Sheer Mag.  They are currently wrapping a full U.S. run supporting The Soft Moon and will make an appearance at Homesick Festival in Berkeley in January 2023. The trio will then hit the trails across North America supporting Molchat Doma in late Spring of next year.

Love Lines is an album about proof of life and the joy of survival. Vibrant with Italo disco and Hi-NRG celebration, the record invokes a sense of motion in an often stagnant time and place. With this dreamy dance-pop number “Heartbeat”, we look forward to hearing more.

Love Lines sees its release on March 6, 2023, via Discoteca Italia. It will be available on limited edition vinyl, including classic black, baby blue/baby pink (250 copies), and red/white (250 copies).
