Art Is Dangerous springs from the fevered imagination behind Geneva Jacuzzi’s latest endeavor with Dais Records, her forthcoming new album Triple Fire, set for release on August 23rd. This creation, a symphony of collaboration, features the lyrical and musical minds of Geneva herself, Roderick Edens, and Andrew Briggs. The production is a collective marvel led by Geneva, with Edens, Briggs, and Josh da Costa contributing their prowess. Dylan McPherson adds an extra layer of synth magic to the mix.
Geneva Jacuzzi, a luminary who first surfaced from the untamed shores of San Diego County, found her true artistic north upon her arrival in Los Angeles in 2001. Here, her wild and immersive multimedia performances transformed into a hallucinogenic blend of masks, costumes, confrontations, and grand installations. Her music, equally lauded, weaves catchy hooks with enigmatic atmospheres, all wrapped in the lo-fi charm of 4-track recordings. She also helmed the synth-wave death-disco ensemble Bubonic Plague, alongside members of The Warlocks and The Centimeters.
With Triple Fire, Jacuzzi expands and sharpens her distinctive mix of midnight melodies and mutant aerobics, delivering a 12-track odyssey of eclectic synth-pop and sly, post-apocalyptic camp.
The album was self-produced, and mixed by Chris Coady. It also features musical contributions and additional production from Josh Da Costa, Andrew Clinco of Drab Majesty, and Roderick Edens & Andrew Briggs. On producing the album, Geneva explains, “Halfway through, we started calling this the record of the prophecy, the record that’s going to save mankind.”
