Tell me what you’re hiding
You’re building a memory
Do you think it might be deep?
Dynamic, compelling Spanish synthpop duo, SDH (short for Semiotics Department of Heteronyms), unleash a brand-new single, “Denial,” from their eagerly anticipated second album, “Fake is Real,” courtesy of Avant! Records.
Andrea P. Latorre and Sergi Algiz, the minds behind SDH, combine a range of electronic and avant-garde sounds, such as big beat, Eurodance, synth-pop, hard trance, and EBM, in a deeply personal and emotionally charged way. Drawing inspiration from DA Blitz, the Prodigy, Yves Deruyter, Faithless, and early-90s Coil, they boldly defy categorization and keep things fascinating.
“Denial” is a song that starts as an ode to the legendary Italian poet and filmmaker Pasolini, but soon plunges into the abyss of complete denial, even anarchy, producing a “pleasant sense of vertigo.” The accompanying video, directed by the brilliant Pilar Gost, is as hypnotic and enigmatic as the music itself. This track is a reconciliation with the rhythms of the night, an invitation to move as one on the dancefloor, and a respite for those who fear the darkness.

SDH is a trailblazing duo, challenging conventions and redefining what it means to be contemporary artists in the 21st century. With their innovative sound, unpredictable influences, and unapologetic attitude, they are sure to leave an indelible mark on the world of music.”Ready to play? Let’s play. Let’s change our epidermis, let’s confuse our coats in the dark,” the band cryptically challenges.
In Fake is Real, SDH go out once again in search of nightclubs that are familiar, but never obvious. The occasion is tremendous, and the list of honorees is select: beginning with the producer Kris Baha, who has provided forcefulness to the rhythmic base and prominence to the voices.
