For nearly twenty years, the Netherlands’ Resplandor has etched their name into the shimmering pantheon of the burgeoning international shoegaze scene. In 2013, they set the stage alight in Lima as the opening act for The Cure, a moment that would propel them onto global platforms alongside luminaries like Slowdive, MGMT, Warpaint, The Jesus & Mary Chain, and The House of Love.

This winter and spring, Resplandor takes to the road once more, supporting their album Tristeza, shaped by Robin Guthrie’s meticulous mix, Simon Scott’s deft mastering, and the weight of their haunting past. With this effort, Resplandor dives unflinchingly into sorrow’s deepest waters, crafting a luminous lament for hearts unmoored. Tristeza unfurls like a bittersweet breeze, fusing the spectral echoes of Cocteau Twins with the aching intensity of My Bloody Valentine and the celestial touches of The Lightning Seeds. Ethereal vocals drift like lost whispers, while gossamer guitars spiral into hazy crescendos.

The singles Blue and Tristeza and the rest of the new album were mastered by Simon Scott (Slowdive) and produced and mixed by Robin Guthrie (Cocteau Twins).

The band’s eagerly awaited tour sets sail on January 23, 2025, at Vessel 11, a striking red ship-turned-venue in the Dutch city of Rotterdam. From this unique launchpad, Resplandor embarks on a European journey with stops at some of the continent’s most renowned venues, including the Cinetol in Amsterdam, followed by an appearance at Kantine am Berghain in Berlin.

The band kicks off February by headlining a shoegaze evening at Paris’s legendary Supersonic before returning to the Netherlands for a show at Resistor in Leiden. The tour continues in the spring and culminates in a grand finale on June 7, 2025, at Wave Gotik Treffen in Leipzig.

Tickets are available here. More dates to be announced in the future.
