Resplandor, the long-standing shoegaze act based in the Netherlands, has spent decades carving out a lush and hypnotic presence in the international dream pop and post-punk scene. Led by Antonio Zelada, the band conjures shimmering, reverb-drenched waves of sound, drawing comparisons to Slowdive, Cocteau Twins, and Lush while forging a distinct identity. Their expansive, melancholic compositions have earned them spots on tour with genre luminaries like The Cure, The Jesus and Mary Chain, and Slowdive.
Now, Resplandor marks seventeen years of Pleamar, a record born from tides of distortion and dream, shaped under the deft hands of Robin Guthrie (Cocteau Twins) and mastered by Slowdive’s Simon Scott. The album remains a beacon, shimmering with ethereal resonance. This lovely milestone of a record is available on streaming, vinyl and CD.
On March 21st, the band takes the stage at Musicon in The Hague for the Noise Reverie Sessions, an evening steeped in swirling reverb and celestial echoes. Joining them are Belgium’s Eosine and Denmark’s Catch The Breeze, ensuring a night where shoegaze swells and surges, waves crashing into the walls, dissolving into the ether.
Friday, March 21st: Musicon, (Soestdijksekade 345 – The Hague)
