She Past Away Return in New Wave Post-Apocalyptic Sci-Fi Film Prometheus 3044

Turkish Darkwave duo She Past Away have returned with another video from their acclaimed 2019 LP Disko Anskiyete, one of our choices for best albums of that year.

This time, however, the band have outdone themselves, creating what is certainly one of the best videos of the year with the 10-minute short film created for the track “Durdu Dünya”.

The clip is a montage of scenes and imagery from a fictional New Wave Sci-Fi movie titled Prometheus 3044, with mutants, vampire overlords, and sets and costume designs reminiscent of the best Japanese live-action superhero series of the mid to late 80s and early 90s—all courtesy of K089, who also directed the short film for the band.

Here is the official synopsis:

\\\\\ PROMETHEUS 3044 //////

It was a heavy burning dusk. A pale figure stood alone at the edge of some unknown world, in the blazing clouds of dust behind a truck stop. Songs of loss and love played on the jukebox through out the shattered night, as an old terror swung in silence above all heads. World halted, rumors of a new quest. Driven out of oblivion by the smoldering remnants of an undying grief, of an  insatiable hunger. That will stop at nothing until it sees its discarded kind, bathed by the warm rays of a benevolent light, once more. Can’t you hear it ? Thundering down the mountain, crashing down upon the cheerful like the wretched. Its tracks laid by a new silver, set in motion by the same ancient doom, as it ever was.

“Durdu Dünya” is featured on She Past Away’s 2019 album Disko Anksiyete. Out now through Metropolis Records in North America, and Fabrika Records in Europe!
