US-based post-punk band Shadow Age have just announced a comprehensive US tour to promote the release of their new EP, their first release since 2015’s Silaluk 7”. To coincide with the start of their tour, Post-punk.com is delighted to premiere the video for the title track, “The Fall.”
The song is a shimmering piece of post-punk bliss, evoking the melancholic vocals of Mary Goes Round and the dream-like atmosphere of For Against. The video was directed by Christopher DeNitto and features a series of public domain footage from war-ravaged Europe, perhaps a cautionary tale or hazy retro nightmare for these trying times. There are moments of beauty throughout the otherwise bleak imagery, a parallel for the song’s gorgeous and driving atmosphere.
The Fall EP is currently available on Bandcamp with two additional digital bonus tracks. Physical cassettes will be available for purchase throughout Shadow Age’s tour, with prominent dates in Brooklyn, Chicago, and Cincinnati. Full dates and poster below!
