Los Angeles duo Sextile storm back with another jolt of electronic punk from their upcoming album, yes, please., set to detonate on May 2, 2025, via Sacred Bones. The latest single, S is For, is a snot-nosed, synth-driven incantation, with Melissa Scaduto firing off a staccato chant over a bed of rubbery synths and jackhammer techno drums. It’s pure Sextile: sweat-soaked, wired, and built for the dance floor.
“It’s not super relevant to Sextile but with my other project ‘S. Product,” Scaduto clarifies. “I was always asked what the S is for – it’s always really been a Scaduto product to me. But this song is sassy way to explain how many things the S could be.”
Initially, the band had grander plans for the accompanying video, but when devastating LA fires scrapped their original shoot, they pivoted—documenting the raw energy of their seven-week tour with Molchat Doma instead. The result? A hyperactive montage of packed rooms, pulsing crowds, and backstage delirium, capturing the chaos and communion of life on the road.
As for the ‘S’? Scaduto’s keeping it open-ended, though the swagger in her delivery says it all. And though “S is For” sounds like a letter of the day segment on Sesame Street, there is, however, a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameo in the video from Scaduto’s spirit animal — the muppet Miss Piggy.
Watch below:
yes, please. ignites with reckless abandon, a volatile mix of high-voltage electro and raw, unfiltered confession—blasting basslines built to rattle the walls, burn through circuits, and shake inhibitions loose. It’s a record of extremes: tender and audacious, vulnerable yet brash, peeling back layers while reveling in excess. The duo charge forward without hesitation, their confidence searing through the mix like neon through midnight fog. The album crashes in fast and ferocious, a rave siren ripped straight from a rickety warehouse bacchanal. Every track is a fuse lit, a dance floor detonation waiting to happen. It howls, it thrashes, it exalts in motion; built for the sweat-drenched, the fearless, the ones who never check the time. But beneath the hedonism, there’s an undeniable truth: this is music made for living, for feeling, for pressing forward with abandon. No rearview mirrors, no regrets—just the throttle wide open, the beat driving ahead.
yes, please. will be released on May 2nd via Sacred Bones. Sextile is currently on a global tour. Catch them live!
