Who do you pray to?
Do you think they hear you now?
So you wanna save me?
You’ve already lost yourself
San Francisco’s TREASVRE summons the sacred from the synthetic, where Sabrina Simonton and Samantha Peña channel a strange and stirring symmetry, less harmony than harbinger. Sabrina Simonton and Samantha Peña sing not in simple harmony, but in spectral collision, evoking echoes of Lush’s ethereal ache, the pastoral shadows of All About Eve, and the sharp-edged sweetness of The Breeders. Yet their interplay transcends mere homage, forming something far stranger and more beguiling—a sonic apparition as entrancing as it is unsettling.
Beneath their voices pulses an aural lattice threaded with shoegaze shimmer, alt-rock sprawl, gothic electronics, and post-industrial murmurs. TREASVRE erects their music upon the bones of futures that never arrived; beneath each synthetic sigh lies emotional ruin. There’s tension in every beat, restraint in every swell, and grace in every quiet collapse.
Their single Run Away presents an autopsy of modern disillusion. Trust corrodes, promises turn bitter, and salvation is cast off like yesterday’s fashion. The mood isn’t mournful—it’s surgical. This is no heartbroken plea, no lament, but rather the cold precision of release, a quiet severing. In the end, TREASVRE leaves us with a refusal, steely-eyed and resolute. What’s left is the glint of refusal: steely, unsentimental, and strangely liberating. This is not a ballad but a breakage, not an elegy but an extraction. There is no pleading or mourning here, only the quiet escape of running away.
Run Away marks the first in a series of EPs drawn from their debut album, featuring the single’s album version alongside exclusive remixes by Stabbing Westward, Gost, Julien-K, and Tommie Sunshine.
