Following the shimmering jangle-pop brilliance of “Future Love”, and the aptly titled second single “Repetition”, shoegaze legends Ride echo Nowhere’s 1990 album single “Vapour Trail” on their latest track “Clouds of Saint Marie”.
A recent press release for This Is Not A Safe Place notes that the song is inspired by “the Jean Michel Basquiat exhibition at London’s Barbican Centre and the post-punk sound of The Fall and Sonic Youth, for an album rich in their trademark shoegaze atmosphere, whilst simultaneously sounding rejuvenated and creatively ambitious.”
