Richmond Virginia’s Dream Pop Heroes True Body Drive a Hearse Through a Graveyard in “Spirit City”

Richmond Virginia’s dream-pop heroes True Body wander through “Spirit City” in their new spellbinding new video directed by Travis Waddell, that sees vocalist Isabel Moreno-Riaño chanting lyrical bliss among tombstones and a warm summer haze while driving around in a hearse, and singing a cemetery chapel.

The song is featured on the band’s forthcoming debut full-length, Heavenly Rhythms for the Uninitiated.

“The significance of the rest of the LP songs, or their relationship to our realities, constantly shifts as we live in and around them” explains Moreno-Riaño. “‘Spirit City’ is the one unwavering work of the lot, a bright little dream that we carry with us, clutching dearly when we need to. Hope that formed years ago, flitting between fact and imagination and now fixed firmly as a guiding light.”

Watch the video for Spirit City below:

True Body was formed in Richmond, Virginia, back in 2015, the band was born of a diverse collective of souls self-described as: “denizens of the hardcore and punk spheres, powerful trans thinkers and magicians, soldiers of techno and other various dance musik disciplines.”

Heavenly Rhythms for the Uninitiated was recorded & mixed by Jeff Ziegler (The War on Drugs, Kurt Vile, Nothing) and mastered by Mikey Young (Total Control, Eddie Current Suppression Ring).

The record is set for release on April 3rd via Funeral Party Records.
