[dropcap]This[/dropcap] past February, Los Angeles duo Magic Wands put out the album of the month —their second album Jupiter. Now listen to this stellar remix of the track Lazer Bitch off of that album by Sci-Fi Post-Punk heroes L.A. Drones:
“When we first got the Magic Wands Album, “Jupiter”, and started to read the titles, ¨Lazer Bitch¨ immediately sounded like it’d be a Disco Funk song to us; it’s the kinda title Chic would’ve called one of their songs, ha. Then we discovered that the song is 116 bpm, which is perfect for this kind of music. The MAGIC started to happen when we heard Dexys voice alone, it was like listening to the first Madonna single, “Everybody¨, such an inspiration!!!!! Her voice was that cool that at that moment we decided to use just her vocals from the original song for this marvelous Space Disco Remix, which we named ¨Magic Wands LAZER-BITCH Remix Club666″.” – L.A.Drones!
