Quebec Darkwave Trio Sarajevo & Moi Debut Video for “Pills

Quebec City-based darkwave trio Sarajevo & Moi has just dropped their latest EP, “Psyché,” through Velouria Recordz, marking a thrilling new chapter in their artistic evolution.

At the helm of Sarajevo & Moi is Michel Mercier, a figure renowhttps://www.instagram.com/sarajevoetmoi/ned for his role in the legendary Canadian postwave outfit Handful of Snowdrops. Joined by the dynamic Juliette Décembre and Jean Ruest, the trio melds resonant vocals with contemporary electronic beats, creating a sound that’s both fresh and familiar. “Psyché” delves into the complexities of the human condition, exploring themes of self-assertion, dependency, sorrow, and mental decline. The tracks may shimmer with brighter melodies, but the band’s trademark introspective melancholy remains a subtle undercurrent.

Sarajevo & Moi skillfully balances darkness and light, introspection and innovation. Their latest creative endeavour is the music video for the brilliant “Pills,” a haunting, dream-like visual masterpiece that transports viewers into the restless minds of the sleepless. Directed by Nicolas Ouellet, the video unfolds as a series of eerie, nightmarish scenes, perfectly capturing the disquieting beauty of the trio’s music and the surrealism of the dream world.

Psyché is now available through Velouria Recordz and can be streamed and downloaded on Bandcamp. For this new EP, the band collaborated with Jean-Pierre Mercier, known for his work with Handful Of Snowdrops, for the production. Fans and new listeners can purchase the EP Here.
