Post-Punk Duo Palais Ideal Kick-Off the New Decade With Their Video for “Catharsis“

Post-Punk duo Palais Ideal have kicked-off 2020 with a brand new video aptly titled “Catharsis“. The track is the second single and first official video featured on the band’s latest album Pressure Points—an LP which was produced by legendary 4AD producer John Fryer and released in May 2019 through GermanCold Transmission Music.

“Catharsis” is an icy and infectious guitar-driven track with a dancing bassline to match, altogether uniquely evoking the kind of old school hooks that beg this band’s badge to be emblazoned on a customized leather jacket.

Watch the video below:

Pressure Points’ is Palais Ideal’s second studio album, a record sonically honed to razor’s edge, tackling the dystopian challenges of our tech-driven society which brings us ever closer and further apart.

The album also features a cover of a track that is arguably considered to be the very first post-punk single—Magazine’s “Shot by Both Sides”.

In addition to the video, the band have announced an extensive European Tour in early 2020 throughout Italy, France, and Germany together with several different acts featured across the itinerary, including S Y Z Y G Y X (USA), ELZ and the CULT (TR) and SELOFAN (GR).
