Tampa post-punk act Push/Button/Press have unveiled the video for “Trace”, a single taken from their album Black Swan, the band’s sophomore release on GermanCold Transmission records.
With top-notch production, recorded with a multiple Grammy-nominated sound engineer, Black Swan is a masterstroke in old-school sound treading the highwire between classic post-punk, energetic indie-pop, and gothic rock.
In the intimately shot and sepia-toned video for “Trace”, a witless couple battles silently through their infidelities, by murdering and poisoning each other in a Hitchcockian fashion. The song’s danceable urgency is driven by propulsive drums and guitars, overlaid by haunting chorused vocals, where even if your feet don’t move to the frenetic melody, your fingers might trace the song’s imagined footsteps.
