Portland post-punk act Shadowhouse has unveiled their video for “Already Know”, a song featured on the band’s haunting goth opus Forsaken Forgotten.
Swelling with forlorn emotion, “Already Know” perfectly sets the scene for the entire album. With its ominous synths, brooding bass, and icy guitars that shiver as the song swells with its resonating melancholy, this exquisite ballad is both cathartic and disarming in the way that it captures an otherworldly heartache.
The video, filmed by Wayne Moreheart, (known for his work with Actors, Korine, Spectres, Girlfriends and Boyfriends), is wrapped in atmospheric twilight hues and a timeless film-grain, capturing the dark romance and wistful longing that bellows from vocalist Shane McCauley’s poetic vocal croon.

Shadowhouse’s music summons a distinct mixture of dark post-punk, goth, and darkwave with captivating drums, brooding basslines, shivering guitars, and chilling synths. Their latest album Forsaken Forgotten is a testament to the band’s perseverance. Across the past four years it took to make the album, Shadowhouse saw multiple personnel changes, with time spent recording in five different studios: Felix Fung (Mode Moderne, Spectres) at Portland’s Hallowed Halls; Little Red Sounds in New Westminster BC, Psychedelic Inner Temple in Portland, then two songs (“A Year Today” and “Tonight”) with Mike Lastra (The Wipers, Neo Boys, Poison Idea) at Smegma Studios in Portland. The album was finalized and mixed by Alex Arrowsmith at The Basement of Solitude in Portland.
Shadowhouse’s Forsaken Forgotten is out now via CD and a limited edition of 300 vinyl via Icy Cold Records.
