Portland Post-Punk Act Shadowhouse and LA Synthpunk Duo Terminal A to Embark on European Tour

Portland post-punk act Shadowhouse are embarking on a two-week sonic adventure across Europe, accompanied by Los Angeles synth-punk pair Terminal A. The pair of bands have united to champion Shadowhouse’s newest darkwave offering, Forsaken Forgotten. And as Terminal A makes their thrilling European debut, Shadowhouse finally returns to enchant the continent for the first time since 2015.

The tour kicks off on April 23rd in Liège, Belgium, and will take the two bands through Germany, Poland, Denmark, the Czech Republic, and Austria. A climactic finale awaits at Schöppche Keller in Frankfurt on May 5th, where the night will be graced by the fleeting reunion of 80’s Düsseldorf icons They Fade in Silence, who emerge from a twenty-year slumber for this exclusive appearance.  Among the highlights of the tour are stops at Schokoladen in Berlin, JUZ Mannheim, and a special performance with Kaltfront at Juzi in Göttingen.

More info on Shadowhouse:

Founded by Shane McCauley, Shadowhouse has been captivating audiences with their nostalgic, introspective take on post-punk for nearly a decade. As the band enters its eighth year and embarks on a new chapter, their latest LP, Forsaken Forgotten, sees them pushing their sound into uncharted territory while remaining rooted in their punk rock origins.

Influenced by the likes of The Chameleons, Shadowhouse has weathered numerous lineup changes without compromising their artistic vision. Currently comprised of Shane McCauley and Carl Simpson on guitar, Tapani ‘Taps’ Sernesky on bass, Noel Silhan on keys, and Thomas Michael on drums, the band’s foundation is stronger than ever. Their past tours have taken them across the United States, Europe, and beyond, sharing stages with the likes of Mode Moderne, The Mob, Eleven Pond, Trisomie 21, Gitane Demone Quartet, Ash Code, Geometric Vision, Melting Walkmen, Horror Vacui, and Masquerade, among others. Shadowhouse has also made a name for themselves on the festival circuit, with appearances at Poland’s Return to the Bat Cave, Canada’s Verboden, and their hometown’s Out in the Shadows.

The band has consistently released compelling music, starting with their stunning 2013 single “Haunted,” backed by “Lonely Psalm.” This momentum led to a four-way split release by Resurrection Records alongside Cat Party, Terminal A, and Etilo Mañtalini, as well as their debut LP Hand in Hand with Mass Media Records in 2014.  Shadowhouse’s most recent single, Conformity/Fall Down, was released by Gone Home Records in December 2017.

More info on Terminal A:

Los Angeles-based synth/post-punk duo Terminal A are finally making their European debut. Hailing from the San Pedro area, Terminal A consists of vocalist Colin Peterson and guitarist Lee Busch, who have been captivating audiences since 2012 with their unique blend of punk, deathrock, industrial, and avant-garde electronic music. Renowned for their highly energetic performances, Terminal A draws inspiration from the Viennese Actionists, Brecht, and Artaud’s Theater of Cruelty. Their powerful presence on stage has earned them accolades.

With three EPs, a handful of singles, and several music videos under their belt, Terminal A has already established a strong following in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. They have toured extensively, been featured as official showcase artists at SXSW, and have been mainstays of the legendary Part Time Punks club night. Aside from their work with Terminal A, Peterson, and Busch are also part of a side project that includes members of iconic bands such as Gun Club, The Cramps, and The Bags. This European tour, however, marks their first live appearance outside of North America.
