Portland-based synth duo Xibling are a frenzy of unfettered creative energy, that has been hard to contain during this global pandemic. So much so, in fact, that the pair have been performing many live streams since quarantine began. Now the pair are getting back into the thick of it again, returning to making it a weekly endeavor after an initial unbroken run from March 22nd to May 24th.
Not only that, but Xibling, the creative partnership of both vocalist Moriah West, and instrumentalist Julian Thieme, have been utilizing their 80s infused avant-garde jazz-like sensibilities to write and perform almost completely new music during each that week of lockdown while bringing a raw and almost spontaneous creative energy to their engaging performances.
While we wait for followup record to 2019’s remarkable and genre-defying Yes Body mini album, you can grab some of these new tracks on Xibling’s Bandcamp, as vocalist Moriah West explains:
“We released 15 of the first songs for $5, for one day only on Bandcamp’s last all-proceeds-to-artists day. We are going to release another big batch for the next one, on (August 7th.)”
The streams go live on Xibling’s Facebook and Twitch, and are all still available for viewing as well as being available on the duo’s YouTube channel.
Look for their next Live Stream at 3pm today, August 2nd, 2020.
