Poland-based Post-Punk Act Las Flores Debuts Spanish Language Single “Lejos De Donde Naci”

The wars of love

A thousand tears of pain

Where will I escape this afternoon?

Poland-based post-punk pundits Las Flores announce the release of their second single, and first in Spanish, “Lejos De Donde Naci” (Far From Where I Was Born.) The song details a grim and gloomy romance between nature and smoggy urbanism, and its ultimate devastation. The metaphors about bravery and loss come in the form of elegant, poetic details.

“It’s a song about rebelling against the place you were born and embarking on a journey with someone you love into the unknown to see how far you can go,” explains vocalist Paul Cahaus. “Eventually, you realise that you’re going nowhere, and the journey keeps getting harder. You realize the person you embarked on this journey with might not want the same things as you. You eventually realise you’re better off alone…so you break up.”

Although slightly morose, “Lejos De Donde Naci”  sets the perfect mood for commiseration, contemplation, and introspection, bringing to mind traditional goth. We hear elements of Clan of Xymox, Bauhaus, Current 93, and Molchat Doma in their sound.
