Philly Darkwave project Kiss of the Whip has dropped their video for the old-school EBM infused track “Circle of Knives”, the followup track to the Tristan Victor helmed project’s last release “Like Love Only Real”.
The single (and the rest of the forthcoming album) was produced by Jeff Zeigler (The War on Drugs, Death of Lovers, Kurt Vile, Nothing), and mastered by Ryan Schwabe. The video was directed by Bob Sweeney.
Regarding the retro distorted VHS video for “Circle of Knives”, Victor explains:
“As bleak and hopeless as Philadelphia has always felt to me, the post-industrial, abandoned darkness that still exists in areas like Brewerytown — where this was filmed — bring me more inspiration than anywhere or anything else. This video is a tribute to the city.”
