Philadelphia Deathrockers Academy Order Debut New Single “Remember The Night”

Philadelphia deathrockers Academy Order, a band comprised of current and former members of Stud Count, Fluoride, and The Dividing Line, have been refining their musical mischief, melding the razor notes of punk, new wave, and would you believe it, even hardcore. Their kind of racket—unmistakably their own, yet with an alluring nod to what we all remember—makes the impassive suddenly lively-footed.

Vocalists Matthew Green and Norelle Green blend ear-shattering metal screams, powerpop passion, and a gritty verve, and what do they do? They toss in a dash of gothic glimmer. This isn’t the usual fare; it’s a creation that’s both rough and radiant—a hint of raucous revelry with a touch of refined romance.

Remember The Night” is a tune that tickles and tugs. The guitars, cold and relentless, match perfectly with Matthew Green’s demanding serenade. The song’s biting, audacious sound, a testament to Green’s bewitching charm and fervent energy, stands almost peerless in today’s tempestuous musical tide. But don’t be fooled; alongside this ferocity, the ensemble delves deeply into harmony, ambiance, sentiment, and the ever-inviting allure of the obscure. And then, there’s a glint of synths, taking one back to the gothic dance floors of the 80s, enriched flawlessly by Norelle Green’s ethereal song. Without imitating the old greats, those fond of legends like 45 Grave, Clan of Xymox, or TSOL might find their toes twitching, as would aficionados of Danse Society, Bleached Cross, and Chain Cult.

Remember The Night – off A New Kind of Fear, was crafted and blended by Zach Miller of GEL and Sick Shit fame, within the echoing halls of Landmine/Noisewar Studios. The final polish was bestowed by Phillip Odom, the man behind wonders like Code Orange, Portrayal of Guilt, and Angel Dust, all ensconced in the renowned Bad Wolf Recordings. The album is out September 29th via Protagonist Music.
