Philadelphia’s Night Sins, the long-running project helmed by Kyle Kimball, returns with the dark and sinister video for “Kill Like I Do”, the second single from the darkwave act’s forthcoming fifth studio album Violet Age.
To many, Kyle Kimball is known as the percussive energy found behind the drum kit of Nothing. But his long-running project Night Sins has proven to be a formidable force in the underground music scene in its own right.
Going from sounding like Depeche Mode on one track, to Nitzer Ebb on another, “Kill Like I Do” further highlights Kimball’s versatility as both musician and frontman, with his shadowy vocals permeating the track like the industrial-grade fog machine enveloping The Sisters of Mercy’s Andrew Eldritch caustic snarl circa Floodland and Vision Thing.
“‘Kill Like I Do’ is a metaphor for having zero self control,” Kimball told Revolver of the song’s themes. “It’s about not being able to stop until you’ve hit the floor.”
