Peter Murphy wanted to play The Vampire Lestat | A Post-Bauhaus Interview from 1985

After the original fall of the Bauhaus, frontman Peter Murphy pursued the experimental project Dali’s Car with Mick Karn (formerly of the group Japan), before releasing his debut solo record Should The World Fail to Fall Apart. The impact of Bauhaus was still fresh in the cultural zeitgeist, however, bolstered by Murphy’s appearance in the infamous Maxell “Break the Sound Barrier” commercial, as well as the band’s performance of their trademark song Bela Lugosi’s Dead for the intro to the David Bowie film The Hunger.

Also in this video is an interview segment with Jim Gray from the band Dark Room on his appearance in the series The Little Vampire.
