Peter Hook to Perform the Music of Joy Division with Manchester Camerata Orchestra

Peter Hook is set to perform songs from the catalog of his legendary post-punk band Joy Division with the Manchester Camerata next July.

The event Joy Division Orchestrated is booked for Friday, July 5th, 2019 at The Royal Albert Hall, London.

Tickets will go on Sale Friday the 5th October  at 9AM at Gigs and Tours, Ticketmaster & Royal Albert Hall Box Office.

Pre-sale available here

The event is curated by Peter Hook, who as Joy Division’s bass player, helped define the Manchester band’s signature sound that influenced several generations of musicians to follow. Also curating Joy Division Orchestrated is Musical Director Tim Crooks, who is a founding member of the Manchester String Quartet, as well as being the conductor of Manchester Camerata.

The event is the first of its kind to involve an original member of the iconic post-punk group interpreting music from the band’s treasured catalog of songs originally recorded nearly 40 years ago.

Hook had previously collaborated with Tim Crooks and the Manchester Camerata with a performance of “Blue Monday”, which is featured on the Orchestra’s 2016 album Haçienda Classiçal.
