Peter Hook to perform Joy Division’s ‘Closer’ and ‘Unknown Pleasures’ on 2018 anniversary of Ian Curtis’ death

Shortly after the the 37th anniversary Joy Division‘s gothic masterpiece Closer was released, former New Order and Joy Division bassist Peter Hook, has announced that he is coming back stateside to celebrate our of the music of both bands with the 2018 North American leg of Peter Hook & The Light’s Substance tour—with the gig occurring in Los Angeles on May 18th being a special performance of Joy Division’s Unknown Pleasures, and Closer, back to back.

“We are delighted to bring our ‘Substance’ tour back to North America in 2018 for another 27 dates across the USA & Canada between April & June,Peter Hook wrote via the band’s Facebook page.

“There will also be a very special, standalone ‘Unknown Pleasures’ & ‘Closer’ live show in Los Angeles on May 18.”

May 18th will mark the 38th anniversary of the suicide of Joy Division frontman Ian Curtis.

The Substance Tour is named after the New Order and  Joy Division singles compilations of the the name name.
