The South London duo, PC World, aren’t afraid to be brash and unsatisfied. Following their 2019 self-titled EP, the band joins the Berlin-based She Lost Kontrolroster for their follow up release titled Order on February 8th. With venomous, virile vocals overtop pure, unadulterated EBM basslines—with all the drama of punk but the mechanical precision of industrial—Order delivers a menacing four tracks with remixes by Physical Wash and Aktion Mutante (the collaborative effort of Unhuman and Violet Poison). PC World effectively pulls from EBM greats such as the simplistic brilliance of early-to-mid-80s Hit the Pulse-era Portion Control and the oddball electronic darkness of Borghesia’s Ljubav Je Hladnija Od Smrti, while updating the classic body music sound much like their contemporaries High-Functioning Flesh and Multiple Man.
“Strategy Beat” is a chugging, temperamental piece of EBM sludge. The new music video for the track, directed by Ashley Rommelrath, depicts a Sisyphean, spinning vortex into nothingness—an incessant feeling of vertigo with no end in sight. Watch below:
