NYC Dark Synth Act Light Asylum Announces Rare Concert Performance

In a last minute announcement, Berlin label aufnahme + wiedergabe has organized a rare concert this Thursday from NYC dark synth act Light Asylum.

An announcement seemed imminent last week, as Shannon Funchess was spotted at various Berlin events.

Light Asylum have not performed live since their last gig in Los Angeles in July of 2015, and have performed only a handful of gigs since the last tour in 2013.

Their last concert in Berlin was in 2012, when Light Asylum was promoting the project’s self titled debut LP.

With Funchess’ unique and brutally commanding vocals, (the likes of which was recruited for The Knife for 2013’s Shaking the Habitual), performed over post-punk inspired dark synth beats, this is not a show to miss.

The concert is on Thursday, August 23 at Urban Spree in Berlin.
