None Shall Remain Debut Animated Lyric Video for Macabre Gothic Rock Anthem “Dancin’ On My Own Grave”

I am weary, I am tired

So many rules that I have made

Yeah, they’re in my mind and I know that there’s no denying

Lookin’ in the mirror and I see the thing I want to break

Emerging from the shadow-laden fissures of New York City’s sonic underworld, None Shall Remain are a trio who deftly traverse the liminal spaces between post-punk’s angular desolation and the obsidian haze of gothic rock. Their sound is further permeated by darkwave’s synth-driven heartbeat and the iridescent swirls of shoegaze’s enveloping textures.United by their diverse global roots, from Texas to Eastern Europe to California, Peter Michell, Matt Bronner, and Stas Poletaev each contribute a unique sonic signature, weaving a vibrant tapestry that transcends geographic and stylistic boundaries.

The band’s genesis is a fascinating collision of musical ideologies: the relentless pulse of EDM, the disciplined intricacies of classical composition, punk’s serrated edge, and the visceral weight of death metal’s subterranean roar. This confluence births a sonic entity that feels both hauntingly familiar and strikingly alien—a rugged soundscape polished with an unexpected finesse.

From their Brooklyn bastion, None Shall Remain has etched their presence into the tangy skin of the Big Apple. Their latest release is a lyric video for “Dancin’ on My Own Grave,” a track culled from their debut EP, Into the Darkness. The song lurches and pirouettes in equal measure, a macabre waltz that resonates through midnight hours somber embrace. It offers a tantalizing glimpse into the band’s shadowed ascent—a journey grim yet imbued with a haunting grace.

With this song, they stare unblinking into the abyss, unearthing the quiet contradiction of embracing and evading death all at once. Every choice we make—how we love, loathe, believe, and belong—ripples with its weight. The lyrics speak from a place worn thin by time, a soul treading wearily through the wreckage of years gone by. Past decisions lie heavy, like stones turned over and over, each one revealing a barren truth. Detached, disillusioned, yet unbowed, they dance defiantly atop their own grave, a final waltz of rebellion against the void. Exhaustion mingles with defiance as they tear down their inner walls, shatter rules carved in stone, and face the fleeting breath of life with their heads held high—still moving to the beat that drives them onward.

Dancin’ on My Own Grave slinks into the night, a dark delight with a grin just crooked enough for the Halloween revelers. It subtly feels like Grauzone’s Eisbär draped in the expansive cloak of icy gothic rock, shivering shoegaze guitars wails, and vampiric Peter Murphy-like vocals—sharp, eerie, and infectious. Its darkness is as tongue-in-cheek and as over the top as Bauhaus’ Bela, serving as the perfect hymn for drifting through the doorways of October’s macabre parties.

The video springs from a vivid collaboration with Molly Evans, whose direction and animation paint the mood of the song in sharp, swift strokes. Her vision spins seamlessly with the music’s pulse, a fluid reflection of its restless rhythm. Stas Poletaev, donning the executive producer’s mantle, steered the project with care, while his bandmates wove their own ideas into the creative fabric. Together, they’ve conjured a clip that hums with the same energy, alive and unapologetic, as the music itself.
